Q: How do you split your climbing time between the different aspects of climbing/mountaineering, be it bouldering, trad, sport, DWS, winter, alpine, big walls or snowy mountaineering and how does this vary through the seasons?
A: In the summer, while keeping myself fit on plastic, I try to get outside to climb as much as possible. I prefer bouldering but I like to climb sport as well. In the winter I train for competitions.
Q: Top three favourite crags and why?
A: Fosen, the bouldering area around where I live, everything about it is incredible. Climbing, and location you will not find similar to anywhere else in the world. Fontainebleau, the magic of fontainebleau hits me hard... Gautefall, a really cosy boulder area in Norway
Q: Do you have any heroes, climbing or non-climbing?
A: Not really, I don't have any idols I try to live up to. But the climbers I find most inspiring are Patxi and Sharma.
Q: What is your biggest fall?
A: I haven’t had any very dangerous or big falls. I play safe…
Q: Top three favourite books/authors?
A: Angels and Demons – Dan Brown, Populærmusikk fra Vittuala – Mikael Niemi, Emperor (series) - Conn Iggulden
Q: Top three favourite bands or musical artists?
A: I listen to a lot of different music but a current top 3 would be: 1. In Flames 2. Motorpsycho 3. Fink.
Q: Who are your regular climbing partners, and what is it that you like or dislike about climbing with them? (Go on, spill the dirt!)
A: Right now I climb with a really psyched girl, a boy who is really psyched at bouldering and a more “grown man” who is more experienced than all of us. What I like about them is that they all like to have a good laugh!
Q: Who was your mentor/who influenced you most as a young climber?
A: I guess that would be two persons. My dad who introduced me to climbing and “the grown man” I mentioned earlier, who gave me inspiration and will to climb.
Q: Who or what gives you inspiration these days?
A: I guess that’ll be the thought of competitions (?)
Q: Top three favourite pieces of DMM kit, and why?
A: 1. the yellow crashpad, the best crashpad I have ever had. Stylish and compact. 2. Light quickdraws, light weight and good feel on the rope. 3. Rope bag.
Q: If you could do it all again, would you do it differently, if so, how?
A: I would’ve done my training more structured and correct from the very beginning.
Q: What training, aside from just climbing a lot, do you do?
A: I lift some weights at my school’s gym sometimes.
Q: Top three favourite climbing guidebooks?
A: 1. Fontainebleau 7+8 2. Fontainebleau
Q: What other interests do you have outside climbing?
