11/05/2008BMC International Meet Underway

Forty-three international visitors from twenty-three countries have gathered together at Plas y Brenin for the tenth
BMC International Meet from Sunday 11th to Sunday 18th May. Held bi-annually the meet has a reputation for coinciding with good weather and this year is no different with a dry and sunny forecast for at least the next four days.
Each day a UK volunteer host teams up with one of the guests to show them some of the fantastic and diverse cragging to be enjoyed in North Wales, as well as giving an insight into British climbing traditions and ethics along the way. For many of the visitors it will be their first experience of using nuts and cams for protection.
During the evenings there will be a series of presentations from such luminaries as Pat Littlejohn and Nick Bullock. Saturday night is the end of meet party with spot-prizes from DMM. I wonder what the Latvian is for "Climb when ready!"
